Meet the Hamlins
Jacob and Melissa Hamlin
Our Story
Our paths first crossed at Western Kentucky University, where Melissa was working with international students and Jacob was both a staff member and a student studying Counseling. From the very beginning, our relationship has been defined by making space for each other to feel heard, appreciated, and accepted. Despite having distinct communication styles, personalities, and our own mental health struggles and intimacy blocks, we’ve learned over the years how to collaborate and grow together.
What makes our relationship unique is our commitment to showing up for one another—brave, awkward, and kind—no matter the challenge. We’ve walked our own healing journeys, which have shaped how we support those we work with in discovering their own pathways to connection.
Our Work Together
As partners, we bring a shared passion for creating wholeness in the world. Through workshops, retreats, and collaborative projects, we guide others to find deeper understanding and compassion for themselves, their partners and others.
Melissa’s Journey
Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies and has spent years pursuing her own healing through modalities like individual therapy, group therapy, and retreats. Recently, she completed her Basic Facilitator Training in Shadow Work with Cliff Berry and has experience facilitating transformative processes. Melissa brings a depth of personal insight and a nurturing presence to her work with couples and individuals.
Jacob’s Expertise
Jacob holds a master’s degree in Counseling with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy and is a licensed marriage and family therapist in Kentucky and New Mexico. He is currently under supervision to become a Certified Sex Therapist and is a proud member of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, American Associarion of Sex Educators Counselors and Therapists, and The North American Society of Adlerian Psychologists. Jacob combines professional expertise with a practical, empathetic approach, offering couples and individuals tools to navigate challenges and foster intimacy.
Our Values
We share a deep appreciation for freedom, respect, personal growth, justice, mercy, hospitality, and love. These values guide not only our relationship but also the work we do with others. Whether it’s traveling the New Mexican landscape, spending time with our dog Daxanna, or connecting with friends and family, we strive to embody the principles we hold dear.
Our Vision
Together, we’re building a future that brings healing and wholeness to the world, one relationship at a time. We believe in creating spaces where people can show up fully as themselves and find the courage to grow, both individually and together.
